Two new 50m flying foxes, running side by side, are ready to officially open on Thursday at the Ashburton Domain.
They have been installed on the eastern side of the walkway running from the park’s central car park to Walnut Ave.
Improvements have included a soil mound at the southern end and a long ramp for accessibility. Soft-fall material has been added underneath.
Contractors are busy finishing up on the site before the official opening next week at 2pm.
The much-loved old flying fox, on Walnut Ave, was taken down in 2020.
