Four Mid Canterbury Schools took part in the two-day Arowhenua Whanau Service Flava Fest and Korohi o te Pepi (Singing of the Babies) annual cultural event.
Mid and South Canterbury schools and early childhood education pupils showcased kapa haka, visual and performing arts at the festival, held at the Caroline Bay Sound Shell in Timaru last Friday and Saturday.
Rakaia School pupils took to the stage on Friday in the Korohi o te Pepi primary non-competitive kapa haka visual arts Te Rito performances.
On Saturday, students from Ashburton College, Ashburton Intermediate and Ashburton Borough performed in the primary and secondary kapa haka performing arts Visual Art Te Rito competition.
