Country music performer Liam Kennedy-Clark is returning from Australia to Ashburton for Christmas.

The 27-year-old will put on a concert while he is here.

Back Home Again will be at the Ashburton Event Centre on December 20.

He said he was excited and looking forward to the concert in his home town.

‘‘The last time I was in Ashburton was 2020, during the Covid pandemic, and since then everything has been non stop,’’ Kennedy-Clark said.

‘‘I’ve just about finished working on a brand new solo record after releasing five singles from it, full of a fresh new sound. And also, recording and releasing music from a duo with my partner Gabi Louise.’’

The duo, named Wicker Suite, won two Country Music Awards of Australia Golden Guitar Awards in Tamworth with its debut album.

Back Home Again will include songs from Kennedy-Clark’s new album, some older tunes, and some Wicker Suite favourites too.

‘‘As well as telling plenty of yarns about life, and stories on the road. Gabi’s joining me on stage, and we’re bringing over our drummer Ali Foster from Australia, along with my great mates Les Donaldson, and Phil Doublet in the band,’’ he said.

He was excited to also have fellow singer songwriter and Ashburton talent Molly Harrison opening the show.

‘‘I’ve been wanting to play a show again in the event centre for a while now, as it’s one of my favourite venues, and we thought it’d tie in great with being home to see family again over the break.’’
