World Autism Awareness Day will be celebrated in Ashburton tomorrow with a gathering at Ashburton Domain.
People with autism, and parents/caregivers and friends of those with autism will meet at the domain, near the playground, from 4pm for games, activities and a picnic.
People are encouraged to wear something blue, bring a balloon and a plate of food to share.
The day is celebrated internationally on April 2 as a chance to share stories and increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism.
