The Methven Museum has searched through it’s collection of artifacts and found Christmas themed items for their Christmas display.
The display is made up of collections from throughout time that have a Christmas theme, but also would have been given as Christmas presents to children and adults.
The museum is run by Methven Historical Society volunteers and member Kath Woodley said it was fun finding all the items in their collection for the display.
‘‘And you learn such a lot from doing it,’’ she said.
Most of the objects are behind glass but a few are out and are able to be played with by kids like a View-Master, puppets, magic blocks and a picture puzzle.
‘‘The kids love it, the old toys keep them totally amused.’’
As well as the Christmas display the museum is filled with all kinds of objects and artifacts that tell the story of Methven’s history.
The museum is in the Methven Library building, open Tuesday’s and Fridays from 2-4pm.
