Meccano magic on show

Art, creativity, imagination and science all combined at the National Meccano Show in Ashburton last week. Around 26 members from the New Zealand Federation of Meccano Modellers had their models on show in the Tinwald War Memorial Hall. It seems anything imaginable can be crafted with meccano and exhibitors showed off their handiwork including a full size grandfather clock that chimed on the hour, working cranes, cars and robots, Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon, a dinosaur and giant Kiwi.
