Screams of the frightened will once again sound out across rural Mid Canterbury on Friday night.

The Tamar Beef Horror Maze, near Methven, returns, following the last event on February 21 which attracted 271 people.

“Bring a torch and prepare to be scared,” say the organisers Richard and Chrissie Wright.

The previous one had been a great success.

“All the feedback was very positive,” Chrissie said.

Friday night’s event, 8pm to 10.30pm with $10 entry, would be the final horror maze for the season.

The couple stage the horror mazes each year, alongside daytime maize maze events, to raise money for Hato Hone St John. About $3800 has been raised so far this season.

The final maize maze for the season will be on Sunday, 1pm to 4pm.

The location is 2300 Methven Highway. There is parking in the yard, look for flags at the gate.
