Replicas of the most fearsome creatures to ever walk the earth have arrived at the Ashburton Domain.
Courtesy of The Amazing Dinosaur Discovery which last visited the town two years ago, more than 20 dinosaurs will star in four 90-minute interactive dinosaur walkthroughs to be staged this weekend.
Managers are seeking two to three dinosaur assistants aged 16 and over, for helping children with a dinosaur ball game and rideable dinosaurs. The assistants will need to be on deck for the duration of the 1.5 hour sessions, to be held 11am and 1.30pm this Saturday and Sunday, getting paid $35 each session. Anyone interested can phone Mike on 021405712 as soon as possible.
Media liaison Lois Tomuri was looking forward to the Ashburton sessions.
“I love lighting up the kids’ faces, I love seeing the smiles and the questions they ask,” Tomuri said.
Many of the dinosaurs moved and roared. One of them spurted water from its mouth, while another, operated by a person inside, walked. Species represented include triceratops, brachiosaurus, parasaurolophus, dilophosaurus, oviraptor, raptors, and ofcourse Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Attractions also include a baby dinosaur den and education area, and prehistoric-themed bouncy castles.
